Huntsville Hospital is seeking a patient care tech/CNA to join our clinical team. You will initiate patient care, gather vital signs, prepare rooms for procedures, collect specimens and assist with phlebotomy as needed.

Education: high school diploma or GED required; CNA/LPN preferred with BLS during orientation. Experience in a clinic setting and strong communication in a fast-paced environment are highly valued. We offer ongoing education and a supportive, locally governed health system.

Acts as collaborative member of the clinical team in providing continuity of and quality patient care. Initiates patient care, gathers vital signs, prepares patient and exam room for procedures, and collects specimens. Provides patient education and support as needed to assist physician, patient and family. Assists coworkers and draws blood as needed.

Qualifications

Education required: High school diploma or GED.

Education preferred: Completion of certified medical assistant program, completion of the Huntsville Hospital Patient Care Tech program or CNA.

License, Certification and/or Registration: CNA or LPN Preferred. BLS must be received within the orientation period.

Experience: Phlebotomy experience preferred. Minimum of one year experience working in a clinic setting preferred.

Additional Skills/Abilities: Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly. Must be able to use computer, fax machine and copy machine. Must be detail oriented and work well in a team environment
