Job summary

Huntsville Hospital Health System seeks a patient care tech to join the Madison area team. You will assist in initiating patient care, collect specimens, and prepare exam rooms while supporting physicians and families.

Prior phlebotomy and clinic experience are preferred, with CNA/LPN and BLS as desirable credentials. Excellent communication and teamwork will be essential as you adapt to a fast-paced environment and coordinate with a multidisciplinary staff.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED is required.
• Preferred certifications: CNA or LPN; BLS within orientation period.
• Experience: Phlebotomy experience and 1 year in a clinic setting preferred.
• Skills: Excellent communication, teamwork, and attention to detail; able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Overview

Provides patient education and support as needed to assist physician, patient and family. Assists coworkers and draws blood as needed.

Qualifications

Education required: High school diploma or GED.

Education preferred: Completion of certified medical assistant program, completion of the Huntsville Hospital Patient Care Tech program or CNA.

License, Certification and/or Registration: CNA or LPN Preferred. BLS must be received within the orientation period.

Experience: Phlebotomy experience preferred. Minimum of one year experience working in a clinic setting preferred.

Additional Skills/Abilities: Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly. Must be able to use computer, fax machine and copy machine. Must be detail oriented and work well in a team environment.
