Job description

The Division of Hematology/Oncology at the University of Michigan is embarking on a major expansion of its clinical and research services. As part of Michigan Medicine, the Division provides expert hematology/oncology care to a large and diverse patient population across Southern Michigan. We are seeking an innovative clinician-scientist who will join a distinguished group of nine cellular therapists dedicated to excellence in patient care, research, and education within the FACT-accredited cellular therapy program at the Rogel Comprehensive Cancer Center.

The University of Michigan proudly serves as a Blood and Marrow Transplantation Clinical Trials Network (BMT CTN) Core Consortium site, offering unparalleled opportunities to shape and participate in pioneering clinical and translational research. You will join a specialized multidisciplinary team of clinician - scientists who work closely with nurses, advanced practice providers, and social workers to provide excellent care. The program is supported by an exceptional cell therapy lab, as well as pathology, radiation oncology and other subspecialty services. We expect you to develop your own research program within our thriving Cellular Therapy (BMT and CART) team, collaborating across disciplines to change the landscape of Cellular Therapy.

With over 240 faculty and staff, Hematology/Oncology is the second largest Division in the Department of Internal Medicine. We collaborate closely with the University of Michigan Rogel Cancer Center, an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center whose catchment area includes the entire State of Michigan. Our division is committed to strong and consistent mentorship, including carefully structured mentorship teams, individual development plans, and opportunities to expand clinical and research skills. Leadership opportunities will be available for candidates with appropriate experience and qualifications.

Candidates must be board-certified/eligible and hold or can obtain the appropriate medical licenses in the state of Michigan. Experience in clinical trials, particularly investigator-initiated studies, is highly desired but not required.
