  • Ph.D. or Master's degree in Counseling, Clinical Social Work, or related field from an accredited program.
  • Five years of post-certification clinical experience, related to addiction disorders.

Job Details

Summary/Objective

The Clinician provides and coordinates clinical and education-based treatment services throughout an individual's treatment, ensuring practices align with accreditation and organizational standards and person-centered care.

Essential Functions
  • Provides comprehensive mental health and substance abuse evaluations, prepares detailed reports with findings and recommendations, ensures timely completion of clinical documentation, including psychosocial histories, assessments, treatment plans, admission/discharge summaries, chart documents and correspondence for assigned patients.
  • Provides individual counseling and facilitates educational and counseling groups; charts activities promptly in patient records.
  • Supports daytime on-call and after-hours on-call as needed.
  • Enforces expectations and policies related to patient care.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality.
  • Engages in ongoing professional growth and effectiveness through training and staying current with trends and theories.
  • Assists patients in understanding and completing therapeutic, objective-driven treatment plans.
  • Cooperates with staff, community resources, and referral sources to coordinate services.
  • Attends staff meetings, supervisory conferences, and clinical supervision to ensure clinic operations run smoothly.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Operates in residential treatment or outpatient clinic, using standard office equipment; requires regular talking and hearing, vision, occasional lifting, bending, and prolonged computer use.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

Full-time; schedule includes evenings, weekends, and on-call rotations.

Travel

Minimal travel expected.

Required Education, Experience, or Eligibility Qualifications
  • Fully certified as a CSW, CAP, or CAPA through the Wyoming Mental Health Professions Licensing Board, or eligible for licensure if current certification is out-of-state.
  • Ph.D. or Master's degree in Counseling, Clinical Social Work, or related field from a CACREP, CORE, or CSWE accredited program.
  • Meets qualifications for a substance abuse professional, clinician, or assistant per the State of Wyoming's Division of Behavioral Health Standards for the Operation of Community Mental Health and Substance Abuse Programs.
Preferred Education and Experience

Five years of post-certification clinical experience, some directly related to serving persons with addiction disorders (alcohol, drugs, gambling).
