Job summary

Cumberland County Guidance Center is seeking a Full-Time Project Redirect Clinician to connect individuals in the criminal justice system with behavioral health services and recovery supports. You will assess eligibility, coordinate treatment, and promote successful community reintegration.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments to determine eligibility for Project Redirect services.
• Provide behavioral health recommendations and treatment referrals based on individual clinical needs.
• Educate individuals on mental health diagnoses, treatment options, and available recovery supports.
• Coordinate behavioral health, medical, and community-based services to support recovery and stability.
• Assist individuals with accessing appointments, transportation, and telehealth services.
• Monitor treatment participation and program engagement.
• Provide updates to courts and partners regarding treatment adherence and participation.
• Develop recommendations regarding continued program involvement and service needs.
• Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation.

Cumberland County Guidance Center is seeking a Full-Time Project Redirect Clinician to join our innovative diversion and community behavioral health team.

This opportunity is ideal for a Mental Health Clinician, Behavioral Health Clinician, Therapist, Counselor, Social Worker, or Community Mental Health Professional who is passionate about improving access to care, reducing barriers to treatment, and helping individuals successfully navigate recovery while involved in the criminal justice system.

As a Project Redirect Clinician, you'll work closely with criminal justice partners, correctional facilities, the courts, and behavioral health providers to assess individuals for program eligibility, coordinate treatment services, and promote successful community integration.

What You'll Do

As a Project Redirect Clinician, you'll serve as a liaison between behavioral health providers, criminal justice agencies, correctional facilities, and individuals participating in Project Redirect.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments to determine eligibility for Project Redirect services
• Provide behavioral health recommendations and treatment referrals based on individual clinical needs
• Educate individuals on mental health diagnoses, treatment options, and available recovery supports
• Coordinate behavioral health, medical, and community-based services to support recovery and stability
• Assist individuals with accessing appointments, transportation, and telehealth services
• Monitor treatment participation and program engagement
• Provide written and verbal updates to courts, prosecutors, and criminal justice partners regarding treatment adherence and program participation
• Develop recommendations regarding continued program involvement and service needs
• Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation

Required Qualifications

Education

• Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Behavioral Health, or another mental health-related discipline from an accredited university

Experience & Skills

• Experience working with individuals living with mental health conditions
• Knowledge of behavioral health services and community resources
• Strong assessment, engagement, care coordination, and communication skills
• Computer proficiency and experience using electronic health record systems
• Ability to obtain jail clearance.
• Possession of a validNew Jersey driver's license with a clean five-year driving record that meetsorganizational standards and qualifies for insurance coverage.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in community mental health settings
• Experience with criminal justice, diversion, reentry, or forensic behavioral health programs
• Experience conducting clinical assessments and treatment recommendations
• Knowledge of care coordination and case management practices
• Experience working collaboratively with community agencies and multidisciplinary teams
• Spanish-speaking ability
