Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Social worker, Psychologist, Professional Counselor, or Marriage & Family Therapist licensed by the Kansas BSRB.
• Minimum Experience: history in mental health therapy/assessment and at least one year of supervisory or relevant experience.
• Must demonstrate skill with individuals, families, and groups using multiple modalities (cognitive, supportive, behavioral, psychodynamic).
• Strong listening, verbal and written communication skills.
• Good diagnostic and quality documentation skills.
• Maintain required Kansas licensure and continuing education (CEs).
• Ability to communicate effectively with referral sources and external providers.
• Credentialed by Prairie View to conduct evaluations, individual/family/group therapy and collateral consultations.

Responsibilities

• Provide evaluations, psychotherapy, psychological testing, family therapy, and consultations across age ranges.
• Maintain approximately 15 hours per week of direct patient contact (adjusted for supervisory duties).
• Collaborate with referral sources, Utilization Review, and interdisciplinary teams for seamless care and authorization.
• Maintain clinical outcomes per Prairie View standards.
• Provide clinical oversight, regular contact, staff meetings and individual supervision.
• Coordinate training and professional development plans; foster a high-morale team environment.
• Conduct annual performance evaluations and interpret organizational policies for staff.
• Oversee documentation compliance and hold staff accountable to standards.
• Participate in QA/QPI initiatives and educational community events when possible.
• Complete progress notes and evaluations within 72 hours (24 hours for inpatient), and testing reports within 35 days.

This role blends direct patient care across diverse populations with clinical leadership, staff supervision, and quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities

Direct Clinical Care

• Provide evaluations, individual psychotherapy, psychological testing, family therapy, and case consultations for clients across the lifespan (children, adolescents, adults, and older adults).
• Maintain approximately 15 hours per week of direct patient contact (adjusted based on administrative supervisory load).
• Collaborate with referral sources, Utilization Review staff, and interdisciplinary treatment teams to ensure seamless care and service authorization.
• Maintain clinical outcomes according to Prairie View standards.

Clinical Leadership & Supervision

• Provide clinical oversight, regular contact, staff meetings, and individual supervision.
• Coordinate training, support professional development plans, and foster a positive, high-morale team environment.
• Conduct annual performance evaluations and interpret organizational policies for staff.
• Oversee team documentation compliance and hold staff accountable to organizational standards.

Quality Assurance & Operations

• Participate in Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives, including auditing open initiatives and chart compliance.
• Lead or participate in educational community events for professional and public audiences as resources allow.

Documentation Standards

• Complete progress notes and evaluations within 72 hours (24 hours for Inpatient care).
• Complete psychological testing reports within 35 days of receiving lab/assessment data.

Qualifications:

• Minimum Education: Social worker, Psychologist, Professional Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist; independently licensed by the Behavioral Sciences Review Board (BSRB) in the State of Kansas
• Minimum Experience: History of working in a mental health Therapy/Assessment capacity and minimum of one year of supervisory or relevant experience.
• Must demonstrate skill and competence working with individuals, families, and groups, utilizing a combination of modalities and treatment approaches, such as cognitive, supportive, behavioral, and psychodynamic
• Must have good listening skills, verbal skills, and written communication skills
• Must have good diagnostic skills and quality documentation skills
• Must maintain CEs and Kansas State licensure
• Must be able to communicate effectively with referral sources and external care providers
• Must be credentialed by Prairie View to do evaluations, individual psychotherapy, family therapy, group therapy, and collateral consultations with children, adolescents, adults and older adults
• Must be proficient at basic keyboarding/word-processing skills
• Must be able to pass Kansas Bureau of Investigation Screen and the Central Registry Screen for both adults and children
