We offer a variety of programs including inpatient and outpatient behavioral health, residential treatment for court-involved teenage girls, geriatric services, clinical day treatment schools, and chemical dependency services. Through our multi-site network of care, we strive to meet our mission in Helping people find their way while educating and empowering individuals to participate in their own care and recovery.

Program Summary

In the Adult Partial Hospitalization Treatment and Intensive Outpatient Treatment programs, we focus on creating a therapeutic environment where people can learn coping strategies and improve their functioning. Each client’s treatment plan centers on group therapy, which allows for sharing experiences while gaining support and validation. When people need intensive, comprehensive treatment for psychiatric and chemical dependency issues but do not require inpatient or residential hospital care, Natchaug offers intensive, structured clinical treatment in programs that may include up to six hours of treatment a day, five days a week. These programs can help prevent hospitalization and assist in transitioning back home after inpatient or residential treatment. Natchaug brings this clinical care closer to people’s homes by offering programs throughout Eastern Connecticut.

Job Summary

The Licensed Behavioral Health Clinician collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to organize, prepare, and deliver evidence-based clinical services in the Outpatient department. Services include individual, group, and family therapy. The clinician maintains ethical principles and adheres to professional standards of practice.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessments and establish care plans as appropriate.
2. Provide direct patient care, including case management, care coordination, interdisciplinary collaboration for care transition, crisis intervention/safety planning, counseling, emotional support, referral, and discharge planning.
3. Refer patients to appropriate levels of care and resources to support individualized care plans.
4. Maintain timely, patient-centered documentation reflecting assessment, interventions, and outcomes, compliant with licensing and third-party requirements.
5. Provide clinical social work interventions to all patient populations independently.
6. Supervise second-year social work students in field placements.

***Behavioral Health Clinicians are eligible for a Sign-on Bonus up to $1,500.00, in accordance with program guidelines***

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or related Human Service field.
• Previous healthcare experience required, preferably with chemical dependency populations and adults.
• Current Connecticut license: LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LADC, or Psychologist.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships within and outside the organization.
• Cultural competence and awareness of health-related social needs; recognizes and addresses health disparities and injustices.
• Valid Driver's License.
