A community hospital in Connecticut is seeking a Clinician III for Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health. The role involves providing mental health care to youth, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with families and community resources. This position reports directly to the Clinical Coordinator and/or Director of the Child and Adolescent Ambulatory Services. Provides direct and indirect clinical services to children and/or adolescents in need of mental health care and is responsible for the provision of age-appropriate care. Core skills include crisis assessment, intake assessment, individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, treatment planning, case management, team/community collaboration, patient/family education, and triage/discharge planning. Interfaces with managed care for treatment authorization. May provide flexible coverage to another service within Behavioral Health as needed. Contributes to creating a caring and compassionate environment aligned with ECHN's Core Values of Teamwork, Communication, Respect, and Caring.
Requires a Master’s Degree and licensure in Connecticut as an LCSW, LMFT, LPC, or LADC. CPR certification is a plus.
Minimum of one year experience in family therapy with the target age group, preferably in Behavioral Health. Familiarity with Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), abuse and neglect reporting, community resources, and billing processes is preferred.
Computer skills in Microsoft Word and Outlook, strong clinical and communication skills, team orientation, flexibility, and ability to multitask. Valid driver’s license with public passenger endorsement required for some incumbents.
Includes gathering comprehensive biopsychosocial information, developing treatment plans, making appropriate referrals, documentation, treatment authorization, age-specific care, family education, rapport building, DBT facilitation, management of violent situations, coordination with community providers, scheduling, obstacle resolution, and participation in clinical supervision.
