Job Details: Level: Experienced | Location: Los Angeles, CA 90059 | Position Type: Full Time | Salary Range: $28.00 - $55.68 Hourly | Job Shift: Graveyard

Responsibilities
  • Performs culturally competent comprehensive assessments, identifies an appropriate diagnosis and develops a treatment plan within the required time frame.
  • Provide guidance, consultation and approval of assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans and progress notes.
  • Maintain detailed client record documentation; progress notes and treatment reviews.
  • Participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary treatment team providing clinical input related to client diagnosis and recommended treatment plans. Consult with staff to review client cases and medication issues.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and competency in substance abuse and co-occurring disorder treatment. Be sensitive and responsive to cultural differences among the agency’s client population.
  • May carry a caseload and conduct individual/group sessions including family education groups.
  • Regularly meet and maintain the agency’s productivity goals. Make and monitor appropriate referrals when necessary.
  • Support the orientation and training of staff and interns. Actively participate in continuous quality improvement efforts and peer review functions.
  • Consult with and serve as a liaison with community agencies, school personnel, parents, and other programs and services; advocate and educate on needs of specific clients. Make presentations to community and other groups outside the facility.
Clinician Competencies and Performance Expectations
  • Assess and re-assess client status and make accurate diagnoses; develop appropriate treatment plans.
  • Analyze crisis situations promptly to facilitate treatment and referrals.
  • Present client history and behavioral impressions for review.
  • Prepare detailed case summaries and maintain accurate client records in compliance with local, state and federal rules and regulations.
  • Provide education, consultation and in-service trainings for staff.
  • Protect clients’ rights and provide advocacy for all clients.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other therapists, county staff, referral agencies, physicians and the public.
Prerequisite Qualifications
  • Masters degree in related field, MFT or MSW licensed waivered. (BBS registered)
  • Must have valid California driver’s license and liability insurance when driving personal vehicle on agency business.
  • Knowledge of: principles and practices of community behavioral treatment, psychiatric emergency intervention, adult and child psychology; laws and regulations related to Title 22, 42CFR; community resources; medical record-keeping; Medi-Cal regulations.
Qualifications – Clinician II
  • Clinician II – Unlicensed: Major tasks and responsibilities (overview): complete intake documentation, culturally competent DMH assessment, coordinate care plans, maintain records, conduct individual/group psychotherapy, participate in multi-disciplinary teams, ensure timely outcomes, assist with transportation as needed, provide client advocacy, and community presentations.
  • Clinician II Competencies: maintain BBS registration; assess and coordinate treatment; crisis management; educate and train staff; coordinate emergency psychiatric support; build professional relationships; use DSM for diagnoses; meet productivity goals; enter notes within required timeframe.
Required Qualifications (General)
  • Must possess current registration to practice as an Associate Clinical Social Worker, or a Marriage, Family and Child Intern in California (BBS registered).
  • Must have at least 2 years of clinician experience.
  • Must have valid California driver’s license and liability insurance for agency driving.
  • Bilingual abilities may be required in certain programs.
Licensed Clinician Summary
  • Under supervision, assess, diagnose and identify appropriate patient care level via ASAM/ITA assessments and participate in treatment plan development.
  • Major tasks include supervision of clinicians, documentation, multidisciplinary collaboration, and community outreach.
  • Maintain current license with California Board of Behavioral Sciences; provide crisis management and advocacy; ensure compliance with regulations.
