Job summary

Kids for the Future seeks a Clinician I - ICM in South San Diego County to deliver Intensive Case Management for adults with serious mental illness. You will coordinate the treatment team, develop plans, and provide direct clinical services in office and community settings.

• Licensed, license-eligible, or registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) required
• Two years of experience providing behavioral health services
• Ability to pass criminal/background clearance
• Credentialing: if offered, complete credentialing process

Responsibilities

• Provide case management and behavioral health services for an assigned group of clients including coordinating and monitoring the activities of the individual treatment team.
• Develop, write, implement, evaluate, and revise overall treatment goals and plans in conjunction with the ICM treatment team.
• Provide individual supportive counseling and symptom management.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of psychiatric mental status, diagnosis, and family structure and relationships
• Provide treatment, rehabilitation, and support services.
• Provide direct clinical services to clients on an individual, group or family basis in the office and in community settings.
• Act as liaison to and consult with community agencies and families to coordinate treatment.

Hours : 40 hours per week; Monday - Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm

As a Clinician I - ICM (Intensive Case Management), you will:

• Provide case management and behavioral health services for an assigned group of clients including coordinating and monitoring the activities of the individual treatment team.
• Assume primary responsibility for developing, writing, implementing, evaluating, and revising overall treatment goals and plans in conjunction with the ICM treatment team.
• Provide individual supportive counseling and symptom management.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of psychiatric mental status, diagnosis, and family structure and relationships
• Provide treatment, rehabilitation, and support services.
• Provide direct clinical services to clients on an individual, group or family basis in the office and in community settings.
• Act as liaison to and consult with community agencies and families to coordinate treatment.
• 19 days of PTO per year; 12 paid holidays per year

Intensive Case Management (ICM) is a community-based program serving adults living with serious mental illness who require a higher level of support to achieve stability and independence. The program focuses on individuals with complex needs who may be at risk of hospitalization, homelessness, or disengagement from care.

ICM utilizes a multidisciplinary, team-based approach to provide comprehensive, individualized services in the community. Staff work closely with clients to coordinate care, support access to housing and benefits, assist with medication and treatment engagement, and build skills to promote recovery and independence.

With smaller caseloads and a strong emphasis on outreach, ICM allows staff to develop meaningful relationships with clients while delivering high-quality, person-centered care. This model is designed to improve overall outcomes, reduce crisis utilization, and support long-term community integration.

Education: Master's degree in a behavioral health-related field such as Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling required

Licensure: Licensed, license-eligible, or registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) required

Clinical supervision is available for this position.

Additional Qualifications and Skills

• Strong clinical skills and experience providing treatment to persons with severe and persistent mental illnesses.
• Two years of experience providing behavioral health services.
• Demonstrates knowledge of clinical and rehabilitation theory.
• Knowledge of substance use disorders and addiction preferred.
