Position Flexibility

This position can accommodate either a Day/Night rotating schedule or straight night shifts, depending on the candidate's preference.

Role Overview

The Clinician Fellow is a highly developed role model of professional nursing practice with expertise in clinical practice, teaching, development, and evidence-based practice. This role collaborates with management to foster a culture of excellence in nursing and patient care. Under the supervision of the Unit Director or Department Manager, the Clinician Fellow assists with employee evaluations, staff hiring, and performance management. They hold authority and responsibility for nursing care delivery during their shift, applying clinical knowledge and skills to ensure quality patient outcomes. The role also involves providing education, training, consultation, and coordination of clinical activities, demonstrating the ability to provide age-specific patient care and interpret patient data. The Clinician Fellow demonstrates a commitment to the community and the nursing profession.

Responsibilities
  1. Serve as a leader in clinical nursing practice, identify improvement opportunities, and lead change processes.
  2. Support staff psychological and learning needs during change and transition.
  3. Practice participatory leadership and engage in shared leadership at various organizational levels.
  4. Assume leadership in quality improvement, evidence-based practice, onboarding, and peer review processes.
  5. Apply nursing knowledge within Relationship Based Care framework, addressing patients' clinical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs.
  6. Communicate effectively with verbal and written skills, translating patient conditions and advocating for care changes.
  7. Ensure comprehensive patient documentation to facilitate communication among caregivers.
  8. Use critical thinking to analyze clinical and psychosocial issues, aligning with organizational goals to enhance safety, quality, and patient satisfaction.
  9. Build caring relationships with patients, families, and colleagues to create a compassionate care experience.
  10. Disseminate new knowledge through presentations, posters, and publications.
  11. Utilize performance improvement tools to enhance care quality and the work environment, integrating research and best practices.
  12. Share knowledge gained from improvements across units or systems.
  13. Develop and maintain productive relationships through mentoring and positive communication.
  14. Coach colleagues on cultural diversity, address workplace violence and impairment, and promote safe work hours and healthy lifestyles.
  15. Support the development of others through mentoring, education, and knowledge sharing.
  16. Participate actively as a preceptor for nursing students and new nurses, aiding in developing future preceptors.
