This position offers a generous sign-on bonus of $20,000 with a two-year commitment to UPMC. We are seeking experienced nurses to lead our CT Surgery unit, 3E, guiding a dynamic team and enhancing patient care. About 3E

3E CT Surgery Cardiology is an 18-bed unit caring for patients with heart conditions, post-surgery recovery, and vascular issues. The unit operates at a fast pace but remains supportive, prioritizing patient comfort and safety.

Role of a Clinician

The Clinician is a senior nursing role emphasizing clinical expertise, teaching, and evidence-based practice. Working under the supervision of the Unit Director or Department Manager, the Clinician is responsible for patient care, staff education, and clinical coordination, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  1. Build and maintain effective relationships through mentoring, positive communication, and promoting diversity and workplace well-being.
  2. Utilize performance improvement tools to enhance care quality and work environment, sharing best practices across units.
  3. Mentor and educate staff, participate in precepting students and new nurses, and promote ongoing professional development.
  4. Align daily practices with national and organizational goals to improve safety, quality, and patient satisfaction, fostering compassionate relationships and sharing innovations.
  5. Apply nursing knowledge within Relationship Based Care, ensuring comprehensive documentation, effective communication, and clinical assessment tailored to patient needs.
  6. Lead clinical practice improvements, support staff during change, and participate in shared leadership activities, including staff evaluations and quality initiatives.
