Clinician After-Hours MFT, LCSW, LPCC

Job summary

TURN is seeking an on-call clinician to support access to medical, educational, social, vocational, housing, and related services to help clients achieve program goals. The role coordinates with physical health providers to ensure whole-person care and advocates for clients’ best interests.

On-Call Shift Schedule: 3 nights per week 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM. A 2-hour stipend is provided for each assigned shift, and any time on calls or in the field.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree and CA BBS registration or license (MFT, LCSW, LPCC) required.
• Valid CA driver’s license and current auto insurance per contract requirements required.
• Experience providing mental health and/or substance use disorder services preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and EHR software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessments, mental health evaluations, family-individual-group therapy, plan development, case consultation, crisis intervention, discharge placement, and assist clients in meeting basic needs and symptom management.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation, meet minimum billable requirements for direct client services.
• Facilitate placement including pre-placement visits, and transportation as needed.
• Shift coverage including part of the on-call team.
• Provide field-based services as required by program and client need.
• Maintain confidentiality of client’s care.
• Participate in scheduled program meetings.
• Other relevant duties as assigned.
• Respond to after-hours calls for ACT clients and collateral contacts, providing telephonic triage and initiating in‑person crisis response when clinically indicated.
• Conduct crisis‑focused assessments, including mental status and risk evaluation, and implement stabilization interventions such as de‑escalation and safety planning.
• Determine and coordinate appropriate levels of care during crisis situations, including collaboration with emergency services, hospitals, and other community partners as needed.
