InterCommunity, Inc. is seeking an experienced counselor knowledgeable in substance abuse treatment.
The role involves counseling individuals, families, and groups using evidence-based techniques and requires weekly supervision while guiding clients toward abstinence and sobriety through structured treatment approaches. The counselor will assess needs, develop treatment plans, coordinate with providers, ensure aftercare, and train new clinicians.
Description
An experienced counselor who possesses knowledge about substance abuse treatment. Trained in a variety of therapeutic techniques used to address issues, including but not limited to parenting, depression, addiction and substance abuse, suicidal impulses, stress, problems with self-esteem, and grief. Counselor’s work with individuals, families, and groups to address and treat client. Works independently with weekly supervision, is capable of directing and motivation clients toward abstinence and sobriety through specific avenues of treatment.
*All agency staff are required to attend all mandatory department/agency meetings and trainings*
Sunday-Thursday 12:30 PM -9:00 PM, with mandatory staff meetings on Wednesdays, 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM
A Master's degree, and/or Connecticut State Licensure (LMSW,LCSW, LPC) and two (2) years relevant experience. Also requires experience working in a Recovery-Oriented System of Care and supervisory experience.
