University of Connecticut seeks a Clinical Veterinarian to provide veterinary care in support of its research mission. This full-time role focuses on diagnosing, treating, and managing clinical cases within research colonies, with emphasis on anesthesia and surgery and post‑operative care.
The candidate will participate in disease surveillance, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with IACUC and administrators across campuses, ensuring high standards of animal care and welfare.
This full-time Clinical Veterinarian position is primarily clinical, providing veterinary care and veterinary services in support of the organization’s research mission. The Clinical Veterinarian will provide daily support to diagnose, treat, and manage clinical cases identified in the research colonies; assist with disease surveillance and prevention programs; participate in various activities to ensure compliance with regulations and guidelines; and assist the Director with administration and management of the animal care and use program. In addition, the successful candidate will provide professional service primarily in the areas of anesthesia and surgery and will oversee post-operative care of animals in support of specific research programs.
