Job summary

Universal Health Services, Inc. is seeking a full-time Utilization Management Coordinator for Hartgrove Behavioral Health Hospital in Chicago, IL.

The role focuses on rapid clinical reviews to secure approvals for continued treatment across payer types, data entry in the Midas system, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to align patient acuity with level of care. The position requires a Bachelor's in behavioral health, with a Master’s preferred, and 1+ year experience in utilization

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health required; Master’s preferred.
• 1+ year of utilization management experience preferred.
• Knowledge of utilization review, insurance and managed care procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform timely daily clinical reviews to secure authorization for continued treatment across payer types.
• Enter all relevant data in the Midas system including certifications, denials, Medicare and appeals.
• Educate and guide on level of care requirements and payer expectations for patient acuity and utilization.
• Notify attending provider/discipline within 24 hours of problems related to unmet criteria or discharge planning.
• Communicate with managed care/insurance reviewers on requested updates within 24 hours of certification.
