Job summary

Penn State University is seeking a Clinical Trials Navigator within the CTSI to guide investigators through clinical research processes, budgets, and regulatory requirements. You will coordinate across CTSI, CTO, and compliance offices to move studies from concept to activation.

The role emphasizes collaboration, program development, and stakeholder engagement to optimize study start-up and execution across institutional resources.

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years of clinical research experience.
• Certification from a recognized clinical research organization (ACRP, SOCRA, or IACRN).
• Knowledge of clinical research processes and regulatory environment.
• Ability to collaborate across units and communicate effectively.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct consultations to understand investigator needs and barriers.
• Guide investigators to institutional offices and services.
• Advise on feasibility, initiation pathways and IND/IDE requirements.
• Support budgets, trial management systems and EMR tools.
• Assist in identifying requirements for study initiation and activation.
• Navigate IRB, regulatory, contracting, budgeting, and related requirements.
• Coordinate referrals to offices and service providers for timely support.
• Track consultations, referrals and outcomes.
• Prepare reports on navigator activities and trends.
