Job summary

Johnson County Clin Trials (JCCT) is seeking a Research Assistant to support clinical trial operations and daily activities within the Clinical Operations department. The role includes document prep, data entry, subject recruitment, and protocol-specific tasks under supervision.

The candidate will work with the Site Manager/Director and Clinical Researchers, ensuring adherence to GCP/SOPs, maintaining confidentiality, and contributing to a high-quality research environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Experience in clinical research setting preferred
• Medical Assistant certification preferred
• Experience with clinical trial systems a plus

Responsibilities

• Ensure the confidentiality of clinical research volunteers and sponsors
• Maintain and advocate a high level of customer service and quality within the department
• Assist in the maintenance of Clinical Conductor
• Maintain the ERP system including preparing, filing, assisting with updates and archiving study related information
• Perform data entry and query resolution
• Prepare, handle, distribute, track and maintain clinical trial related supplies
• Assist with the pre-screening, screening, recruiting and enrollment of research subjects as authorized
• Educate study volunteers on study procedures such as diary completion and electronic devices following protocol requirements
• Track volunteer visits in Clinical Conductor and reschedule as needed
• Perform protocol-specific activities including medical history, vital signs, ECGs and specimen collection
• Record adverse events and concomitant medication use and follow-up on open adverse events until resolution
• Obtain and document study data in compliance with GCP/SOPs
• Communicate volunteer information to study coordinator/PI timely
• Assure source documents for future study visits
• Proactively escalate issues
• Develop relationships with study team and staff
• May collect/ship laboratory specimens as needed
• Other duties as assigned
