Position Summary

The Clinical Trial Budget Specialist will manage clinical trial budgets within the Cancer Consortium. Responsibilities include reviewing trial submissions, creating financial plans, and working closely with regulatory, clinical, and fiscal teams to ensure study needs are met.

This role requires understanding of clinical trial processes, start-up and amendment procedures, and financial management for research.

Responsibilities
Primary/Essential Duties
  • Manage start-up and amendment timelines, ensuring compliance with financial and contractual requirements.
  • Review study calendars and billing grids to align with operational and billing regulations.
  • Create and modify budgets to support protocol implementation and institutional requirements.
  • Negotiate budgets with sponsors, aligning with CRS standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Scope of Responsibility
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in trial startup operations, budgeting, and billing rules.
  • Collaborate with sponsors and study teams to develop and review timelines and protocol requirements.
  • Maintain documentation and records throughout the study lifecycle.
  • Manage communication and tracking to ensure transparency and efficiency.
  • Proactively work with teams to meet protocol requirements.
  • Report metrics regularly to sponsors and leadership.
  • Support initiatives to maximize study management and cost recovery.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of experience in clinical trial coordination or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective team collaboration skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret complex documents.
  • Experience with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Forecasting and deadline management.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of clinical trial budgeting.
  • Familiarity with project management tools, CTMS systems, and MS Office.
  • Attention to detail and accountability.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Clinical research certification preferred.
  • Experience with oncology trials.

The annual salary ranges from $77,976 to $107,328, based on experience and qualifications.
