Department: Training and QualityReports To: Training and Quality DirectorLocation: RVA (Corporate Office)Status: Full-time / ExemptPosition Summary: The Training Manager provides strategic oversight of Hospital to Home's statewide clinical education and training programs. This role designs and maintains training curricula, competency programs, and educational initiatives for ALS, BLS, and NEMT personnel while managing Regional Training Coordinators responsible for day-to-day training delivery. In collaboration with Human Resources, the Medical Director, and the Clinical Department, the Training Manager ensures a standardized, compliant, and effective training program that supports clinical excellence, operational readiness, and employee development throughout the organization.Key Responsibilities• Collaborates with Human Resources to manage onboarding processes.• Establish and oversee standardized orientation programs for ALS, BLS, and NEMTpersonnel across the organization.• Coordinates annual and periodic clinical skills validations for ALS and BLS personnel.• Monitors and ensures adherence to Virginia OEMS requirements for EMS providercertification, training, and clinical competency.• Provide leadership, guidance and support to Field Training Officers (FTOs), LeadTrainers, and Regional Training Coordinators.• Ensures standardized training content, evaluation methods, and documentation practicesacross all H2H regions.• Provides oversight of the Field Preceptorship Program, ensuring consistent FTOdevelopment, competency evaluations, and clinical clearance pathways across theorganization.• Coordinates remediation and targeted training assignments for providers identifiedthrough QA/QI review.• Integrates new or updated protocols, clinical alerts, and policies into all training curricula.• Conducts periodic reviews of course effectiveness, provider feedback, and trainingoutcomes.• Serve as a resource to operational leadership on workforce development, clinicalcompetency, and training – related matters.• May be assigned to staff an ambulance as needed to support operational or trainingrequirements.• Performs other duties as assignedManagement Responsibilities• Supervise and evaluate Regional Training Coordinators• Establish performance expectations and accountability measures for regional trainingprograms.• Coordinate statewide training schedules and resource allocation to ensure consistentcoverage and training delivery.• Facilitate regular meetings with Regional Training Coordinators to review performance,compliance, and organizational priorities.Required Qualifications• Current Virginia Paramedic certification (National Registry preferred).• Minimum of 2 years of EMS field experience.• Current EVOC certification with a clean motor vehicle record.• Certifications in ACLS, PALS, and CPR (or obtained within 90 days of hire).• In-depth understanding of Virginia OEMS requirements, NEMSIS standards, and EMSdocumentation practices.• Proficiency with Microsoft OfficePreferred Qualifications• Instructor Certifications in ACLS, PALS, and CPR.• Eligibility to obtain Education Coordinator (EC) certification within 1 year of hire.• Prior experience supervising, mentoring, or training EMS personnel.Core Competencies• Leadership and team development• Organized and able to prioritize projects• Strong communication and presentation skills• Detail-oriented and analytical• Ability to identify training gaps and implement solutions• Commitment to clinical excellence and continuous improvement
