Highlights of the position:

  • Collaborates within teams to develop training materials and provide training for Medical Assistants, ensuring training model is patient-centered and mission-focused.
  • Supports the clinics in continuously improving MA performance and clinical competencies. Engages in ongoing conversation for quality monitoring and development.
  • Establishes and fosters professional relationships with trainees, allowing them to be active in their learning. Provides constructive feedback and identifies opportunities for growth as appropriate.
  • Collaborates with Leadership teams and clinical staff on workflow changes and process/policy improvement.
  • Continuously looks to seek improvement and implement best practices.
  • Empowers all levels of staff to achieve excellence and promotes a positive work environment.
  • Skilled in performing all functions of Medical Assistant role as outlined in PCHC’s Medical Assistant Job Description and Clinical Competency Checklist.

Education and Experience:

  • Completion of an accredited medical assistant course with certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA) required or eligible to obtain within 6 months of start date.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a primary healthcare or related professional setting as a Medical Assistant required, 5 years preferred.
  • Experience with teaching, supervision or coaching preferred.
  • Will have up-to-date training and certification in Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Health & Safety Institute. Must obtain within 2 weeks if not current at hire.
