Provides Social Services to all patients and families. As a memberof the treatment team(s) and the unit, is responsible for providinga broad range of treatment and rehabilitation activities for thepopulation served.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

Must possess ONE of the following licenses as required bystate board where services will be provided:

WV:
  • Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW) OR LicensedIndependent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) issued by the WestVirginia Board of Social Work
  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) through the West VirginiaBoard of Counseling
  • Psychologist OR Supervised Psychologist through the WestVirginia Board of Examiners in Psychology
PA:
  • Licensed Social Worker (LSW) through the Pennsylvania StateBoard
  • Licensed Professional Counselor through the Pennsylvania StateBoard of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists andProfessional Counselors
  • Licensed Psychologist (LP), Psychology InterjurisdictionalCompact (PSYPACT) License OR Psychology Resident through thePennsylvania State Board of Psychology
MD:
  • Licensed Masters Social Worker (MSW) OR Certified SocialWorker - Clinical (LCSW-C)
  • Licensed Professional Counselor through the Maryland StateBoard of Professional Counselors & Therapists
  • Licensed Psychologist OR Psychology Associate throughthe Maryland State Board of Examiners of Psychologists
OH:
  • Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) through the OhioCounselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family TherapistBoard
  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) OR Licensed ProfessionalClinical Counselor (LPCC) through the Ohio Counselor, SocialWorker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board
  • Licensed Psychologist through the Ohio Board ofPsychology

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

Advanced certification.

EXPERIENCE:

Prior experience in behavioral health.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The statements describedhere are intended to describe the general nature of work beingperformed by people assigned to this position. They are notintended to be constructed as an all-inclusive list of allresponsibilities and duties. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Participates as an integral professional member of aninterdisciplinary treatment team led by a physician.
  2. Participates as clinical personnel in a treatment area andfacilitates therapeutic milieu on the treatment unit, whenapplicable.
  3. Provides direct one-on-one age specific psychotherapy servicesto patients when requested via specific program requirements.
  4. Assists medical staff in determining appropriateness of servicesand receives referral for intervention.
  5. Determines the developmental age (level of development) of thepatient and assists the treatment team in the development andimplementation of a treatment plan specific with developmentalneeds and/or required intervention.
  6. Assesses psychosocial needs, including assessing for high-riskindicators and documents obtainment of psychosocialhistory/assessment.
  7. Correlates all assembled data on the psychosocial history in amanner that is clinically pertinent to the individualpatient.
  8. Performs continued-care planning as developed with the treatmentteam from first day of services.
  9. Provides group therapy as deemed appropriate.
  10. Acts as liaison for patients and their families to variouscommunity agencies, consultants, and services.
  11. Records and charts all patient contacts as required.
  12. Provides direct family therapy to patients and their familiesas directed by treatment planning and program requirements.
  13. Maintains appropriate certification, licensure and competencythrough supervision and/or training and successful completion ofannual performance evaluations.
  14. Attends continuing education seminars and in-services asnecessary to maintain professional licensure, competency, and tomeet hospital required educational standards.
