Job summary

DHR Health in Edinburg, Texas, seeks a Licensed Master Social Worker or Licensed Professional Counselor to provide psychosocial assessments, individual/family/group therapy, and discharge planning. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support patient care across age groups in an acute setting.

The role requires licensure (LMSW/LCSW, LMFT, or LPC) and a Master’s degree in social work, counseling or psychology. BCLS and CPI training within onboarding are expected.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work, counseling or psychology
• Licensure as LMSW/LCSW, LMFT or LPC (Texas transferable)
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to read, write and speak English
• Ability to communicate clearly with nursing, administration and physicians
• Minimum 1 year experience with psychiatric patients (child to geriatric)
• Willingness to work as part of a multidisciplinary team

Responsibilities

• Promotes the facility mission, vision and values to patients and staff
• Documents findings accurately and timely, plans care
• Represents the program well in internal and external interactions
• Complete family sessions within 24 hours of admission unless justified
• Completes discharge plans for patients with existing support systems
