Job description

THE POSITION

Tri-City Mental Health Authorityis currently hiring to fill one full-time vacancy for the position of Clinical Therapist II within the Mobile Crisis Care Program(MCCP).

Tri-City’s MCCPoperates 24/7 to provide crucial support in mobile crises. As such, theschedule will involve a 3/12 shift pattern, consisting of three twelve-hour days per workweek and one alternating eight-hour day every other week. Shifts may include evenings, weekends, daytime hours, and holidays.

The specific shift and schedule will be determined by the supervisor; however, the first one to two months of training will follow a 5-day-per-week, 40-hour-per-week schedule

Examples of shifts are included below:

• Day Shifts: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM, or 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
• Night Shifts: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 7:00 PM - 3:00 AM, 8:00 PM - 8:00 AM, or 8:00 PM - 4:00 AM

Weekend and night shifts will be entitled to Shift Differential Pay of $2.50 per houron weekdays (Monday through Friday) and $3.50 per hour onweekends (Saturday and Sunday). Holiday shifts will be entitled to Holiday Pay.

Tri-City is looking for individuals to serve as Clinical TherapistII on a full-time basis for the MCCP. The MCCP Clinical TherapistII will be part of a team that provides crisis intervention and stabilization, linkage and referral, consultation, and education within the scope of practice. The MCCP Clinical TherapistII will report to the Mobile Crisis Care Clinical Supervisor and Clinical Program Manager.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Respond to client’s (Full-Service Partnership and Adult and Children’s Outpatient Programs and other specialty mental health services) crisis calls with or without law enforcement;
• Perform field-based and telephone emergency mental health evaluations and crisis stabilization in accordance with agency procedure;
• Provide crisis intervention and stabilization services to individuals, groups, and families;
• Identify treatment needs and make appropriate referrals for necessary services;
• Assist clients and relatives with understanding behavioral health problems and their reaction to them;
• Work on a multidisciplinary team for crisis response.

Ideal Candidate

Education

• Clinical Therapist II: Equivalent to a master’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in social work, psychology, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or a related field.

Experience

• Clinical Therapist II: Two (2) years of experience providing professional counseling/therapy services in a behavioral health setting.

Licenses and Certifications

• Clinical Therapist II: Possession of valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS), to be maintained throughout employment.
• Clinical Therapist II: Possession of a valid California Driver’s License, a satisfactory driving record, and a properly registered and insured vehicle, to be maintained throughout employment.

Candidates bilingual in Spanish and proficient in computer skills and electronic health records are preferred.
