Job Summary:
The Providence Center Clinical Therapist ICT Team 1D will provide outpatient psychotherapy either at The Center or in the community. Perform initial screening, intake and assessment, orientation, crisis intervention, counseling, screening, case management, client education, referral, treatment planning, and consultation for clients in the program.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform a comprehensive psychosocial assessment of assigned consumers.
Treat consumers with respect.
Perform in a calm and professional manner during crisis or emergency situations.
Apply knowledge of Psychiatric Diagnosis (DSM IV).
Perform and record mental status examination.
Assess clinical emergencies, including suicide and danger to others.
Collect pertinent data from appropriate collateral sources in accordance with confidentiality guidelines.
Maintain confidentiality in accordance with Center policy and legal requirements.
Develop and present, verbally and in writing, a clear clinical formulation based on behavioral data and relevant theory while incorporating psychosocial and family issues.
Use psychiatric consultation and intervention when clinically appropriate.
Use knowledge to decide appropriate levels of care in order to refer to various points in the continuum of care.
Provide individual, group, and family mental health and/or substance abuse therapy.
Collaborate with other providers, agencies, and individuals in the consumers' network of care.
Maintain knowledge and familiarity of mental health and/or substance abuse and other related community agencies.
Communicate with various local agencies and individuals, as well as with Center staff.
Perform record keeping in accordance with Health Information Services and other Center requirements.
Attend trainings, case presentations and conferences.
Maintain cooperative relationships with Center staff, consumers, community agencies and the public
Communicate with various local agencies and other departments or teams at The Center.
Work in cooperation with co-workers and supervisory staff.
Provide mental health consultation to other community agencies.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Master’s degree in Human Services, Psychology, or Social Work or related field and clinical experience.
LICSW and/or LCDP and/or LMHC preferred. LICSW strongly preferred.
MUST have Insured auto and valid driver's license.
