Essential Functions:
- Primarily responsible for working with youth and/or their families in an office-based setting as well as providing services within a school setting. Additionally, participates in on-call hours each week to assist law enforcement and the local community with youth who have runaway or have been locked out of their home. The ideal candidate can adapt to providing services in many contexts and with youth and families that present with a wide range of concerns. Our therapists are team-oriented while also being self-motivated.
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling services to youth and families between the ages of 10 and 25 that present with a wide range of concerns. Effectively provide counseling services in a school setting with middle school-aged or high school-aged youth to help them learn skills related to school issues.
- Collaborate with community partners, such as schools, police departments, juvenile probation, DCFS case workers, and mental health agencies/hospitals, to serve youth.
- Maintain client records in an electronic health record in accordance with agency standards. Provide data and reports as needed in compliance with agency requirements. Adhere to agency policy on confidential mental health records, including work within the eCornerstone data system for each youth in compliance with DHS and CCBYS (Comprehensive Community Based Youth Services) requirements.
- Provide community information and linkage to referral services for youth and their families for substance abuse, and employment training programs, as needed.
- Assist with crisis coverage as part of the 24-hour crisis response system for CCBYS as designated by the Clinical Director. Provide crisis intervention and advocacy services to at-risk youth with the purpose of family preservation, reunification, and stabilization while promoting healthy environments, lifestyles, and behaviors.
- Position requires evening hours for sessions as well as some weekend and holiday on-call coverage through the CCBYS program.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Ability Requirements:- Extensive knowledge of clinical practices related to working with youth ages 10 to 25, including those who have experienced complex trauma.
- Ability to provide effective individual, group, and family counseling in both office-based and school settings.
- Competence in addressing a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and behavioral issues.
- Proficiency in collaborating with community partners such as schools, police departments, juvenile probation, DCFS case workers, and mental health agencies.
- Experience in maintaining accurate and confidential client records, including using electronic health record systems like eCornerstone and adhering to DHS and CCBYS requirements.
- Skills in crisis intervention and advocacy, with experience in a 24-hour crisis response system, and promoting family preservation and stabilization.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed treatment approaches and strength-based practices, with a commitment to professionalism, flexibility, and continuous learning. Preference for candidates with CCBYS experience or bilingual skills.
Education and Experience:A Master’s Degree from an accredited program in counseling, psychology, social work, or marriage and family therapy is required. Candidates must hold or have the prerequisites to obtain a State License, such as LPC, LSW, LCPC, LMFT, or LCSW. Preferred candidates will have relevant experience working with youth and knowledge of trauma-informed treatment approaches.
Physical Demands and Other Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties listed in the job description satisfactorily. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, or controls; reach with hands and arms. Capable of operating standard office equipment, including a computer and keyboard, calculator, typical business machines such as a fax machine and copier. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20-30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to have valid driver’s license, auto insurance and must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle. The work environment characteristics include a noise level which is usually low to moderate.

- Safety and Agency Resource Utilization: Demonstrates sound judgement and foresight in safety awareness and in daily work. Notifies, in a timely manner, the supervisory chain of any incidents or circumstances that need attention. Report all suspicions or allegations of abuse immediately to their supervisor. Ensures appropriate utilization of materials and resources and minimizes waste.

Internships
Internships in 360 Counseling Department
360 Youth Services accepts interns interested in gaining experience in the mental health field. Internship opportunities are available for all Master’s level students working towards their degree in clinical mental health, or clinical social work.
Internships can begin at any semester or quarter of the University’s Master’s program.
Interns will be provided weekly supervision by a fully licensed clinician. Group supervision is also implemented in addition to individual supervision. There are also opportunities for the intern to participate in clinical training throughout the internship.
360 Youth Services offers a flexible schedule to our interns; however; you must provide availability for daytime hours and 1-2 evenings per week.
- The internship involves providing therapy with your own caseload working primarily with youth ages 11-25 and/or their families.
- Caseloads will be developed through our community partnerships with schools, local law enforcement and DuPage County juvenile probation.
- Services provided are through individual counseling and crisis counseling; as well as family and group counseling.
- Interns will gain experience providing crisis intervention services through our CCBYS program in conjunction with local law enforcement to service youth who have runaway or been locked out by their parents/guardians. Interns will provide on-call crisis coverage, (3-5 shifts a month, including weekends and holidays) as part of the internship.

Social Work Internships in Transitional Housing Programs
Please read the following information about interning in the Housing Department at 360 Youth Services.
The Housing Department accepts Master’s level internship applications for MSW students on a rolling basis beginning 12/1 for the school year (or until all three spots are filled).
Each year, 360’s Housing Department accepts internship applications starting in December for students pursuing their Master’s in Social Work. Ultimately, 360 aims to select three interns each year to work with young people in our transitional housing programs for youth ages 18-24 who are experiencing homelessness.
Details:
- Our housing programs are located near downtownNaperville.
- Internships typically start in August and end inMay.
- We require that interns spend at least 2semesters with the program and ideally span at least 9 months. Given thepopulation that we serve, we do not want adults in and out of our young people’slives so quickly so we cannot accommodate 3-6 month internships.
- The internship is ideal for students interestedin working with youth experiencing homelessness, LGBTQ+ youth, individualsinterested in social justice, etc. Interns will provide case management and 1:1support for 2-3 residents and have the opportunity to run groups and teach lifeskills.
Requirements to Apply:

- 2 Letters of Recommendation at the time of application (a 3 rd will be required before starting an internship at 360 Youth Services)
- Willingness to work between 16-20 hours per week, with at least one full day shift. Evenings and some weekends can be accommodated.
