Clinical Technician - Neurology, Medical/Surgical & Telemetry Unit

This position is based at Marymount Hospital in Garfield Heights, serving the Southeast communities of Cuyahoga County since 1949. Marymount Hospital is a Magnet-recognized, faith-based hospital committed to compassionate, high-quality patient care.

About the Unit

The 3 East/3 West Neurology, Medical/Surgical, and Telemetry Unit provides top-tier care for patients with conditions such as stroke, seizures, heart failure, COPD, renal failure, and arrhythmias. The unit is known for exceptional assessment skills, a nurturing environment, and teamwork.

Position Overview

As a PRN Patient Care Nurse Assistant (PCNA), your primary duties include assisting with basic patient care under RN supervision, reporting abnormal findings, and maintaining a clean environment. The shift hours are from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with patient care tasks such as vital signs, personal care, patient transfers, pulse oximetry, dressing changes, and monitoring device application/removal.
  • Report any changes in physical, mental, or emotional conditions to an RN.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in patient rooms.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Nursing students: BLS certification through the American Heart Association
  • At least one year of recent full-time patient care experience, or completion of at least one clinical rotation in an accredited nursing program, or military medical experience (e.g., Hospital Corpsman, Combat Medic, Medical Service Technician).
Preferred Qualifications
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association (must be obtained during new hire period if not already held).
Physical Requirements
  • Full-body motion to move and lift patients, manual dexterity, extensive standing and walking.
  • Exerting 50-100 pounds of force rarely, and 0-50 pounds occasionally.
Personal Protective Equipment

Follows standard precautions with appropriate PPE.
