Job summary

SpecialtyCare is seeking an Autotransfusion Clinical Technician to operate equipment that purifies and re-administers a patient’s blood, supporting cell-based therapies and maintaining high-quality patient care. Training is provided to build essential skills in autotransfusion and associated protocols.

The role requires flexibility for on-call rotations, weekend/holiday coverage, strong communication, and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
• Live within 30 minutes of contracted hospitals; flexible hours and call rotation including weekends/holidays.
• Reliable transportation and on-call.
• On-the-job training including certification and company-sponsored education modules.

Responsibilities

• Operate autotransfusion equipment to purify and return blood to patients.
• Support cell-based therapies such as PRP and bone marrow aspirate concentrate when applicable.
• Provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment and work with integrity and urgency.
• Be on-call and adaptable to varying shifts.

Autotransfusion, also called cell salvage, is the process of collecting shed blood, separating the red cells from the plasma, washing the red cells, and re‑administering them to the patient.

As a Clinical Technician in Autotransfusion with SpecialtyCare, you will be trained to run the equipment that purifies the patient’s blood and then returns the blood to the patient. Recycling the patient’s own blood, instead of transfusing donor blood, has been shown to reduce recovery time and prevent the adverse effects that can occur with donor blood. We also provide cell‑based therapies, such as platelet‑rich plasma (PRP) and bone marrow aspirate concentrate.

Requirements

• Associate or bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
• Must live within 30 minutes of our contracted hospitals, be able to work flexible hours and participate in a call rotation including weekends/holidays.
