CHRISTUS Health is seeking a Clinical Technician to provide direct care and supervision for patients with psychiatric disorders. You will help ensure patient safety and model appropriate behavior under RN supervision.

The role involves crisis intervention, de-escalation, and maintaining safety on the unit, with responsibilities including observation, documentation, and adherence to hospital policies. Full-time schedule is 7AM–7PM.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
• Experience in crisis intervention and de-escalation is preferred.
• Basic patient care responsibilities and safety awareness.

Responsabilités

• Provide direct patient care and supervision on the psychiatric unit.
• Document observations and maintain timely records (Q 15 or Q 5 minute as assigned).
• Respond to escalating behaviors with de-escalation techniques to diffuse situations.
• Ensure safety of patients, staff, and environment per hospital policies.
• Communicate effectively with the care team and follow policies/procedures.

Summary:

The Clinical Technician provides direct care and supervision of patients with psychiatric disorders, to ensure the safety and well-being of the patients. The Clinical Technician has the primary responsibility for ensuring the patient's safety, environmental safety, and manages patient behavior on the unit. The Clinical Technician will provide continuous patient care, supervision, interaction and role modeling to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. While performing specific duties, the Clinical Technician must provide appropriate crisis intervention as necessary by anticipating and responding quickly to escalating behaviors, utilizing de-escalation techniques to diffuse violent situation, and correctly prioritizing safety concerns.

Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates effective communication skills
• Completes timely observation and documentation of observation (Q 15 or Q 5 minute as assigned)
• One to one evaluation of patients if assigned
• Demonstrates active working knowledge of required documentation and observation of 1:1 patient
• Follows all organizational policies and procedures
• Demonstrates ability to locate policies
• Understands they are responsible for knowing and adhering to hospital policies and procedures

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience

• Minimum one year experience preferred.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

• BLS
