Job summary

Southcoast Health is seeking a Clinical Technician at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, MA. The role involves phlebotomy, EKG, minor invasive and diagnostic procedures under physician orders, plus patient interviews and clerical data tasks.

Shift is Day/Evening with weekend/holiday rotation. Qualifications include a high school diploma with training, 1+ year related experience, CPR, and relevant certifications; enrollment in a nursing program or ED tech experience is acceptable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with specialized courses and training.
• One year of related work experience is required.
• CPR certification required.
• Certified Nurse Aide, Medical Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, and Paramedic certification required.
• In lieu of certification, must be currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program with Fundamentals of Nursing or 1+ years of Emergency Department Technician experience.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID-19 virus or be exempt by signing a statement.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, perform direct patient care including phlebotomy, EKG, minor invasive procedures and diagnostic procedures.
• Conduct patient interviews and provide clerical support such as registration, data entry, transcription, and medical records collation.

*$900 new hire sign-on bonus for this position. (rehires termed more than 1 year also eligible)*

Hours: 24hrs

Shift: Day/Evening shift, 11:00am - 7:30pm with weekend and holiday rotation

Under general supervision of Emergency Department Manager or Designee, perform variety of duties in providing direct patient care including phlebotomy, EKG, minor invasive procedures and diagnostic procedures in accordance with physicians* orders. Conduct patient interviews and provide clerical support including but not limited to patient quick registration, data/order entry, minor transcription of orders, collation of medical records and other clerical duties as assigned.

• Equal to completion of four years of high school plus specialized courses and training.
• One year of related work experience is required.
• CPR certification required.
• Certified Nurse Aide, Medical Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, and Paramedic certification required.
• In lieu of certification, must be currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program with successful completion of Fundamentals of Nursing or 1+ years of Emergency Department Technician experience.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired

Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.
