Job summary

OrthoVirginia Inc is seeking a clinical support professional to join our orthopedic care team in Virginia. You will prepare exam rooms, interview patients, document medical histories, and assist with orders and scheduling to ensure smooth patient flow.

You will educate patients on cast care and therapy, maintain treatment areas, respond to calls, and support physicians in a fast-paced clinical environment across multiple locations. This role emphasizes teamwork and patient-centered service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms prior to patient arrival.

• Record patient's medical history, height and weight.
• Educate patients on cast care, traction care, and orthopedic appliances.
• Input orders directed by physician (x-ray, physical therapy).
• Schedule appointments (return visits, post-ops, study follow-ups).
• Assist with surgery scheduling and pre/post-operative coordination.
• Assist with patient flow and direct patient care as directed.
• Maintain clean, stocked treatment and bracing rooms; dispose of Sharps and biohazard materials.

Primary Functions & Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms prior to patient arrival.
• Interview patients to obtain medical information and vital statistics.
• Record patient's medical history, height and weight.
• Patient education to include cast care, traction care and the use of orthopedic appliances.
• Input orders directed by physician (x-ray, physical therapy).
• Schedule appointments necessary to patient care (return appointments, post-ops, study follow-up etc.).
• Surgery scheduling to include coordination of preoperative H&P testing, therapy and pre/post-operative equipment.
• Assist with patient flow and give direct patient care as directed.
• Maintain clean and well-stocked treatment rooms, bracing rooms and clinical areas; ensure appropriate and timely disposal of Sharps and biohazard material.
• Respond to phone calls and triages appropriately and resolve issues accordingly the same day.

Compensation Range for this position: $17.98 - $26.97 Compensation for this role will be based on several factors, including the candidate's qualifications, relevant experience, education, skills, certifications, geography/market, and internal equity considerations.
