Responsibilities

Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Provides shift-to-shift oversight of clinical practice, staffing, patient flow, safety, service, and resource utilization.
  • Maintains the environment of care.
  • Provides competent, capable, caring, and efficient patient care appropriate to the patient's age.
  • Models organizational values.
  • Offers real-time feedback to staff to enhance performance.
  • Leads or participates in process improvement initiatives to enhance outcomes.
  • Facilitates employee engagement activities, including professional and shared governance participation.

Education/Qualifications:

  • BSN required.
  • Relevant clinical experience; 2 years preferred.
  • Specialty certification preferred.
  • Completion of unit-specific certifications (PALS, ACLS, TNCC, NRP, chemotherapy certification).
  • Membership in a professional practice organization is preferred.

Skills:

  • Effective verbal and written communication.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities.
  • Understanding of patient flow processes and their organizational impact.
