To be eligible for a sign-on bonus, the candidate must not have worked as a probationary, permanent, or time-limited employee in the last 12 months as an employee subject to the State Human Resources Act.

This position is located at the North Carolina Correctional Institution for Women (NCCIW) - Health Care Facility in Raleigh, NC.

NCCIW is the state's primary correctional facility for women, housing up to 1700 offenders across various custody levels. The Healthcare Facility employs approximately 260 full-time staff.

This role reports directly to the Director of Nursing (DON) and involves auditing and ensuring healthcare compliance through reports, data collection, and site visits. Responsibilities include supporting facilities passing or preparing for ACA accreditation, maintaining compliance with PREA, Health and Safety standards, and supporting quality improvement initiatives.

The Licensed Practical Nurse (Clinical Support Specialist) may provide direct patient care within their scope of practice to the offender population across the region, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Duties include screening, assessment, basic wound and personal care, routine respiratory treatments, catheter and colostomy care, vital signs, specimen collection, medication administration, TB skin tests, emergency response, and assisting RNs and physicians. Hours are typically 8am – 5pm, Monday to Friday, with occasional shifts, weekends, or holidays.

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits.
