Job summary

Carle Health in Urbana, IL seeks a Clinical Support Services Associate I (CSSA1) to float between Logistics, Patient Transport, Hospitality Lounge, and Entryway Services to support CSS workloads and patient flow. This role transports patients, guests, equipment, and specimens, assists with wayfinding, and coordinates Uber Health rides while maintaining safety and throughput.

During shifts, you will help with equipment distribution and basic maintenance, and you’ll work with leadership on CSS

Qualifications

• BLS Instructor certification required within 30 days (AHA).
• Fingerprint check required within 30 days (IDPH).

Responsibilities

• Safely assist with moving patients onto transport devices and transport to designated destinations.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies during transport.
• Use, store, and clean equipment properly.
• Receive dispatch for transport assignments and obtain needed equipment for Patient Transport.
• Meet department productivity standards for assignment completion times.
• Distribute medical equipment to CFH departments as scheduled.
• Perform basic maintenance on medical equipment (sanitizing, repairs, replacements).
• Float between CSS and Hospitality departments to balance workload.
• Assist leadership with CSS department projects.
• Assist with patient/visitor flow in Entryway Services (transport, wayfinding, Visitor Management System).
• Serve as Safe Patient Handling resource for patient transport/safety equipment.

Overview

Clinical Support Services Associate I (CSSA1) will float between Logistics, Patient Transport, Hospitality Lounge, and Entryway Services as needed based on volume of Epic task requests to efficiently satisfy needs of the Clinical Support Services (CSS and Hospitality) workload. Responsible for the distribution of medical equipment to patient care areas and throughout the CFH campus, optimizing throughput of patients, and assisting patients and guests with visiting/wayfinding. Demonstrates high levels of commitment and customer service to supporting patient care operations. Performs safe and efficient transport of patients, guests, equipment, and/or specimens to designated destination. Assists Hospitality Lounge team as necessary to perform transports and arranging Uber Health rides, maintaining efficient patient throughput. Assists Entryway Services team to transport visitors/patients, assist with way finding, or by utilizing the Visitor Management System.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Fingerprint Check Required in 30 Days - Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH)

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates ability to safely assist with moving patients onto transport devices and to safely transport patient to designated destination.
• Appropriately responds to emergency situation transporting patients.
• Properly uses, stores, and cleans equipment.
• Independently receives dispatch for transport assignments and obtains needed equipment for Patient Transport.
• Completes assignments within designated timeframes and meets department productivity standards regarding monthly average time to complete assignments.
• Distributing medical equipment to and from CFH departments as scheduled.
• Performs basic maintenance tasks on medical equipment such as, but not limited to: sanitizing, equipment repair, and assessing need to replace and/or order additional equipment to support patient care operations.
• Floats as necessary between Clinical Support Services (CSS) and Hospitality departments based on workload needs to maintain efficient throughput.
• Works with leadership to complete project tasks for all CSS departments.
• Assists with flow of patients/visitors in Entryway Services (transport, wayfinding, or Visitor Management System).
• Serves as Safe Patient Handling resource, working at top of scope as expert in patient transport/safety equipment and safe patient movement.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $16.03per hour - $25.97per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
