Job summary

Mount Sinai Medical Center is seeking a Team Leader for Central Services to oversee daily OR inventory operations and ensure timely availability of medical and surgical supplies for the Nursing Departments.

This role involves supervising staff, maintaining stock par levels, processing replenishments, and coordinating with Purchasing to resolve backorders, with emphasis on safety, accuracy, and prompt service to patient care teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Five years healthcare supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience with automated inventory systems preferred.
• Knowledge of medical/surgical products preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations for inventory management to support Nursing Departments.
• Supervise staff performing the OR inventory replenishment.
• Utilize automated inventory programs and perform cycle counts to maintain par levels.
• Process daily replenishment orders and receipts; verify POs vs deliveries.
• Verify quantities against materials received and note discrepancies for supervisor review.
• Ensure overnight orders are prioritized and delivered the same day to the charge nurse.
• Maintain stock rotation and remove outdated items; coordinate substitutions with OR staff.
• Assist with orientation and training of new employees; ensure storeroom security.
• Communicate with Purchasing on backorders and stock availability.
