Responsibilities
  • Support administrative functions of the department and work collaboratively with the unit Director and/or Manager.
  • Assume administrative responsibilities in the absence of the Director/Manager.
  • Develop and implement departmental plans, including performance improvement and compliance with regulations.
  • Oversee orientation and training of staff.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, physicians, and administration.
  • Ensure quality of staff and functions during shifts.
  • Assist in daily operations, supervise personnel, and ensure efficient department functioning.
  • Perform direct patient care as needed within scope of practice.
  • Continuously assess patient care and direct staff to adapt plans accordingly.
Qualifications
  • Current and valid state RN License
  • Current BLS (AHA); maintain current certification
  • ACLS (AHA) preferred
  • Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; RN-C within 2 years of hire preferred
  • PALS within 30 days for units admitting pediatric patients
