Job summary

Tarzana Treatment Centers, Inc. in Reseda, CA is seeking a Clinical Supervisor (LMFT/LCSW/LPCC) to oversee counselors and case managers involved in direct patient care.

The role includes individual, couples/family or group psychotherapy and crisis intervention, reporting to the Program Director/Clinical Director. The position requires a Masters or Doctorate in social work, counseling, psychology or social science and licensure as LCSW, MFT, or LPCC in California.

Qualifications

• Masters or Doctorate in social work, counseling, psychology or social science.
• Licensed by the California Board of Behavioral Science as LCSW, MFT, or LPCC.
• Minimum of one year experience in evaluating and/or treating substance abuse and/or dual diagnosis.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments of patients at admission and re-assessments as required.
• Provide diagnoses and treatment recommendations based on patient history and symptoms.
• Maintain proper documentation in the medical record of services rendered.
• Provide individual, couple/family and group psychotherapy as needed.
• Deliver crisis intervention services, including 5150 determinations.
• Participate in medical record reviews and supervise counseling staff.
• Perform administrative duties and attend clinical/administrative meetings.

Reports To: Program Director / Clinical Director

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for supervising counselors and case managers involved in direct patient care. Provide direct service, including individual, couple/family or group psychotherapy, consultations, and crisis intervention. Implement the treatment philosophy of Tarzana Treatment Centers, Inc. (TTC). Reports to the Program Director for administrative activities, and to the Clinical Director for clinical matters, unless the immediate supervisor is a licensed mental health professional.

CATEGORIES OF DUTIES

Clinical Responsibilities shall include:

1. Conducting assessments of patients at the time of admission and re-assessments as required

3. Providing appropriate diagnoses and treatment recommendations based on a review of the patient’s history, signs and symptoms

4. Proper documentation in the medical record of services rendered

5. Individual, couple/family, and group psychotherapy, as needed

6. Crisis intervention services, including 5150 determinations

8. Participation in medical record reviews

10. Knowledge of current legal standards pertaining to professional practice, reporting requirements (i.e., suspected abuse; Tarasoff), professional boundaries and related issues.

11. Other duties as assigned by Director/Administration

Supervision/Training shall include:

1. Providing supervision to counseling staff as deemed appropriate, including interns.

2. Conducting performance evaluations of interns or staff, as required.

3. In-service training to staff and/or trainees on mental health topics, as required.

Administrative duties shall include:

1. Attending clinical and administrative committee meetings, as requested.

2. Maintaining proper documentation, as necessary, of clinical supervision

3. Participating in community events, presentations, meetings, and outreach on behalf of TTC

4. Additional functions as specifically requested by the Clinical Director, Program Director and/or Administration

EDUCATION

A Masters or Doctorate degree in social work, counseling, psychology or social science. Licensed by the California Board of Behavioral Science as an LCSW, MFT, or LPCC.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of one (1) year experience in evaluating and/or treating persons suffering from substance abuse and/or dual diagnosis. Prior supervisory experience.
