All CDC recommended vaccines are required vaccinations at Oaklawn. Seasonally, and upon determination of senior leadership, the Influenza Vaccine may be mandatory; in those years, compliance is required. For all vaccines, Religious Exemptions and Medical Contraindications are available.
Provides supervision of clinical staff and performs clerical and administrative duties under the direction of the Site Manager. Provides basic patient care services under the direction and supervision of a licensed physician, physician assistant or nurse practitioner.
Successful prior experience in a supervisory role. Current Credentialed, Registered, or Certified Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Michigan. American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
Prior experience in a physician’s office setting. Demonstrated knowledge of computers, insurance, and medical terminology preferred. Knowledge using Athena and staff training experience preferred. The ability to operate standard office equipment including fax, copier, scanner, and computer. Maintains the standards of care and implements the policies and procedures of Oaklawn. Adheres to regulations and standards of accrediting body. Observes universal precautions and complies with OSHA and MIOSHA standards re: blood borne pathogens and biohazard waste. Demonstrates competency in technical and clinical skills, completes skills checklist, and correctly performs these skills daily as requested.
Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available. Potentially exposed to infectious diseases.
Constantly see/visual acuity, handle/grasp/feel, talk/hear, taste/smell. Frequently stand, walk, reach, bend/twist. Occasionally lift/carry 1 to 50 lbs.
