Job summary

Cartwheel seeks a founding Alaska Clinical Supervisor to deliver direct care to students and families via teletherapy across Alaska. You will supervise associate-licensed clinicians and provide culturally informed leadership in a growing, school-centered telehealth model.

You will collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and school staff, advancing equitable access to mental health for youth and families in diverse communities. Start date December 2026.

Qualifications

• Alaska LCSW license required.
• Board-approved clinical supervisor status required.
• Minimum two years of clinical supervision in Alaska.
• Two+ years of telehealth experience delivering youth mental health services.
• Experience with CBT/DBT/ACT or related therapies.
• Alaska Native or rural community experience preferred.

Catching a student who is struggling early, before a problem becomes a crisis, is one of the most effective ways to support kids. As a Cartwheel clinician, you'll help make that possible for students across Alaska.

About The Role

We're looking for a clinical leader to join our interdisciplinary care team of psychiatrists, therapists, and school health professionals. As Cartwheel's founding Alaska Clinical Supervisor, you'll deliver direct care to students and families across the state and supervise future associate licensed therapists.

Role type: This is a W2, Full-Time, Salaried position

Location: Remote in the US, Alaska residents strongly preferred

Start date: December 2026

What You'll Do

• Provide excellent care, including mental health assessments and teletherapy, to PreK-12 students and school staff in Cartwheel's partner school districts
• Participate in case discussions with other Cartwheel team members
• Support students and families with transition to community care providers
• Build collaborative, trusted, and lasting relationships with school leadership, staff, students, and families. Meet and communicate regularly with school staff.
• Provide clinical supervision to associate-licensed clinicians in Alaska, and deliver cultural competency training - with an emphasis on Alaska Native communities - to Cartwheel staff and providers supporting Alaska clients

Who You Are

• Passion for working with schools on youth mental health and helping build a new care model for Alaska
• Active, independent Alaska LCSW license to deliver mental health care
• Qualified for board-approved clinical supervisor status under the Alaska Board of Social Work Examiners
• At least two years experience providing clinical supervision in the state
• Member of an Alaska Native or other tribal community, or demonstrated experience serving Alaska Native populations
• Experience with CBT, DBT, ACT, solution-focused therapy, and/or motivational interviewing
• At least two years of experience delivering mental health services to children and youth via telehealth. We use GSuite (Google Calendar, Gmail, etc.), electronic health record systems, and other collaboration tools.
• Willingness to cross license into other Cartwheel states. The cost is covered by Cartwheel and the licensing team supports clinicians through the process
• Access to reliable, high-speed internet (50 Mbps download, 10 Mbps upload, you can test your internet speed at https://www.speedtest.net/)
• Excellent organization, communication, and teamwork skills
• Ability to offer hours during and especially after school (e.g., 3-8 pm Alaska Time, Saturdays)
• Ability to provide effective and safe care to children and adults, including ability to manage crisis situations virtually.
• NOTE: Residency in Alaska is strongly preferred for this role

• $90,000 - $100,000+ annual salary for your first 3-6 months, transitioning to Cartwheel's standard performance-based model thereafter, see details below
  • First 3-6 months: annual $70,000 - $80,000 base salary, guaranteed annual $20,000 - $22,000 care contribution bonus
  • After your guaranteed period: annual $70,000 - $80,000 base salary, and you will earn meaningful care contribution bonus for providing more than 20 clinical hours of care per week, often in the range of $10,000-$40,000 per year (and possibly higher)
  • Clinicians earn up to 5% Cartwheel Mission Bonus paid quarterly based on the % of students you see who have Medicaid, are uninsured, or speak a non-English language
