Supervisor: Managing Director of Mental Health Services
The Door is an unparalleled model for youth development, offering a comprehensive range of integrated services within a single site for nearly eleven thousand New York City youth each year. Our mission is to empower young adults to reach their full potential by providing comprehensive youth development services in a diverse and caring environment. At The Door, youth can access health care and education, mental health counseling and crisis assistance, legal assistance, college preparation services, career development, housing supports, arts, sports and recreational activities, and nutritious meals – all for free and under one roof. By providing participants with our suite of integrated services, we seek to provide any motivated young person with the tools, resources, and opportunities needed to successfully transition to adulthood.
Responsibilities:
Provide clinical supervision of The Door Counseling Center Therapists, including review of treatment plans, approve and co-sign clinical documentation, review high-risk cases and oversight of crisis services
Coordinate collaborative care with the Adolescent Health Center medical providers to provide integrated behavioral health services into primary care services
Continue the ongoing development and implementation of a clinical framework for screening, engaging and supporting at risk and vulnerable young people in the Counseling Center
In partnership with other Counseling and Health Center leadership, determine program priorities and goals, develop policies and procedures, monitor patient workflows, and participate in quality improvement projects
Attend meetings and participate as a member of an interdisciplinary staff in cross-departmental efforts to coordinate care and provide appropriate support for young people
Ensure compliance with local, state and federal guidelines and contractual requirements
Complete and maintain relevant documentation and reports
Oversee clinical MSW interns within the Counseling Center
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications:
LCSW required
SIFI required
At least one year of clinical supervisory experience in psychotherapy with therapists and/or interns
Experience in direct service of psychotherapy, including diagnosis, evidence-based treatment planning, acute crisis work, and case management
Experience with adolescents preferred, including high-risk youth, LGBTQ-identified, runaway and homeless youth, foster care youth, and/or immigrant populations
Knowledge of and ability to apply positive youth development principles to working with young people
Knowledge of medical billing and the NYS Medicaid systems preferred
Knowledge of collaborative care models for integrated behavioral health care
Familiarity with outpatient clinic model; experience in an article 28 health center a plus
Ability to build collaborative partnerships with colleagues and community partners
Excellent written, oral communication, and analytic skills
Knowledge of eClinicalWorks or another electronic health record system strongly preferred
Strong proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, Access and Outlook
Demonstrated strong commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion
Proficiency in Spanish, French, or Mandarin is a plus!
Hours: 35 Hours per week, including some evenings; Clinic hours 10 AM - 6 PM
Salary Range: Starting at $80,000 - $90,000; Commensurate with experience; Excellent benefits
