Job summary

Macomb County is seeking a Clinical Supervisor for ACT within the Community Mental Health department. The role provides direct and indirect clinical services, supervises staff, and helps develop program outcomes and evaluations.

The position emphasizes leadership in implementing program components and data-driven reporting. The incumbent teaches clinical methods, ensures appropriate care levels, and coordinates with partners to maintain quality services.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Doctorate in Psychology or related field.
  • Three years of experience in a community mental health setting.
  • Experience supervising professional staff in behavioral health.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in research and program evaluations, monitors record keeping, and develops statistics for ACT outcomes.
  • Provides supervision to ACT clinical staff including orientation, supervision meetings, performance reviews, case consultations, record reviews, and monthly clinical team meetings.
  • Provides emergency on-call support after hours, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
  • Reviews clinical staff documentation for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintains clinical and administrative record keeping.
  • Liaises with MCCMH, ICOs, Managed Care Providers, and community agencies for coordination of health services.
  • Ensures services are provided at the least restrictive level of care.
  • Monitors and initiates action to ensure claim payments.
  • Works flexible hours and on-call rotation.
  • Assists with home and community-based interventions including transportation.
  • Operates vehicle for job functions.

EMPLOYMENT RELATIONSHIP

Just cause subject to probationary period

CURRENT HOURS AND STARTING TIME

Full-time (37.5 hours per week) position. The start time for this position is currently 8:30 a.m.

GENERAL SUMMARY

Under direction, provides direct and indirect clinical services to individuals served, their families, and designated others. Supervises staff members and performs leadership roles as assigned. Implements program components, participates in developing and implementing program outcomes and evaluations, monitors and collects data and develops statistical reports. Teaches clinical methods and assists with day-to-day program functioning.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Participates in research and program evaluations, monitors record keeping, collects and develops statistics related to Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) program outcomes.
  • Provides supervision to the ACT clinical staff including employee orientation, weekly or bi-weekly supervision meetings, performance reviews, case consultations, record reviews, and monthly clinical team meetings.
  • Provides emergency on call telephone support to staff after regular business hours, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
  • Reviews clinical staff documentation for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintains clinical and administrative record keeping.
  • Acts as a liaison with other Macomb County Community Mental Health (MCCMH) direct and contract service providers, Integrated Care Organizations (ICO's), Managed Care Providers, and community agencies with the intent of ensuring prompt and appropriate coordination of health services.
  • Ensures individuals served are receiving services in the least restrictive level of care appropriate to the individual's needs.
  • Monitors and initiates action with staff to ensure appropriate claim payments can be processed.
  • Works flexible hours and on-call rotation as required.
  • Monitors and initiates action to ensure that maximum standards of efficiency and productivity are promoted and upheld.
  • Assists with home and community-based interventions, including transportation of individuals served as needed.
  • Operates an automobile to perform assigned job functions.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education and Experience
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Counseling, or Doctorate in Psychology, or a directly related mental health field
  • Three (3) years of experience working as a professional staff member in a community mental health setting
  • Experience as a supervisor of professional staff in a behavioral health setting
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Five (5) years of experience working as a professional staff member in a community mental health setting
Required Licenses or Certifications
  • Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Limited Licensed Psychologist (LLP), Licensed Psychologist (LP), or a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
  • Possession of required state licensure appropriate to position and the ability to meet privileging and credentialing guidelines
  • Possession of a valid Michigan driver's license and operable, insured automobile for authorized travel
  • Must possess and maintain a current Michigan Chauffeur's license within two (2) weeks from the date of hire
Preferred Licenses or Certifications
  • CAADC-Certified Advanced Addiction Counselor and/or CAC-Certified Addiction Counselor
