Job summary

Malvern Treatment Centers in Philadelphia seeks a full-time Clinical Supervisor to oversee counseling and clinical staff at our Malvern Treatment Center facility. The role focuses on direct patient care, supervision, and program development.

The supervisor will provide one-on-one supervision, participate in recruitment, and ensure compliance with ASAM criteria while maintaining high quality training and education for staff.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a related field is required.
  • 1–2 years of clinical supervisory experience in health or human services.
  • Knowledge of 12‑step recovery and chemical dependency.
  • Ability to provide individual counseling as well as group therapy.
  • Ability to work supportively with staff and patients to gain trust.

Responsibilities

  • Provides one-on-one clinical supervision to staff.
  • Assists in recruitment of counseling and clinical staff.
  • Addresses problematic behaviors in patients.
  • Leads patient education and training activities.
  • Participates in case management, lectures, and group therapy.
  • Completes paperwork and documentation on time and discharge summaries.
  • Performs admissions evaluations and refers patients to appropriate care.

Malvern Treatment Centers is currently seeking a full‑time Clinical Supervisor to work at our Malvern Treatment Center facility in Philadelphia.

The facility is located in a brand‑new beautiful building at 3905 W. Ford Road, Philadelphia, PA 19131.

The Clinical Supervisor will supervise counseling and clinical staff, providing direct patient care and support services. The schedule is Monday‑Friday during regular business hours.

Responsibilities
  • Provides one‑on‑one clinical supervision to staff
  • Assists in recruitment of new counseling and clinical staff
  • Addresses problematic behaviors in patients
  • Gets involved in projects that improve delivery of treatment and participates in ongoing educational and training process
  • Interacts with co‑workers in a helpful manner that contributes to high morale
  • Assumes responsibilities for case management, lectures, and group therapy as required and asked
  • Completes paperwork and documentation on time and in a comprehensive manner
  • Completes discharge summaries in a timely manner
  • Performs evaluations for potential admissions and refers patients to appropriate level of care based on ASAM criteria
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related field required.
  • One to two years of clinical supervisory experience in a health or human service agency, preferably in a drug and alcohol setting.
  • Knowledge of 12‑step recovery and an understanding of chemical dependency.
  • Able to provide individual counseling as well as group therapy.
  • Able to work in a supportive, caring, and non‑judgmental manner with staff and patients in order to gain confidence and cooperation.
  • Able to operate as a role model in speech and behaviors consistent with recovery principles.
  • Confident, articulate, and able to speak effectively in front of groups and individuals to provide education/training.
  • Demonstrated proficiency at educating, communicating, and empathizing with patients, answering questions and concerns in a manner that is respectful.
