Job summary

The Village for Families and Children in Hartford, CT is seeking a Clinical Supervisor to lead clinical and administrative supervision for youth and families served by our behavioral health programs. You will oversee treatment teams, guide therapeutic groups, maintain quality documentation, and manage insurance authorizations while maintaining a small clinical caseload.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and administrative supervision for Family Support Specialists, Case Managers, interns, and designated staff.
• Lead treatment team meetings and support staff through consultation, coaching, and experiential learning opportunities.
• Oversee the development, scheduling, and quality of therapeutic groups to meet the needs of youth.
• Review and approve clinical documentation for quality, accuracy, and timeliness.
• Maintain a small clinical caseload including assessment, treatment planning, risk management, and discharge planning.
• Oversee utilization management including insurance authorizations and reauthorizations.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives through case record reviews and program dashboards.

ABOUT EAGLE HOUSE

Program Overview

• 24-bed psychiatric residential treatment facility (PRTF) serving children ages 6–12
• Functions as a step-down or diversion from inpatient hospitalization
• Serves youth with severe emotional and behavioral challenges related to significant trauma and their families
• Average length of stay: 4-6 months
• Goal: stabilize youth and prepare them for transition to community-based care, family, or foster placement
• Provides intensive, trauma-informed care focused on relationship-building and skill development
• Services include:
  • Psychiatry and nursing evaluations
  • Individual, group, and family therapy
  • Case management
  • Therapeutic recreation
  • Special education services

Position Overview – Clinical Supervisor

• Provide clinical and administrative supervision, coaching, orientation, performance evaluations, and professional development for Family Support Specialists, Case Managers, interns, and designated staff.
• Provide clinical leadership during treatment team meetings and support staff through consultation, coaching, and experiential learning opportunities.
• Oversee the development, scheduling, and quality of therapeutic groups to ensure services meet the needs of youth.
• Review and approve clinical documentation for quality, accuracy, and timeliness.
• Maintain a small clinical caseload as needed and provide direct clinical services, including assessment, treatment planning, risk management, family engagement, and discharge planning.
• Support on-call clinicians, monitor emergency communications, and ensure timely completion of clinical assessments.
• Oversee utilization management including insurance authorizations and reauthorizations.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives through case record reviews, productivity monitoring, and program dashboard analysis.
• Oversee aftercare programming for clients post discharge.
• Develop and lead family engagement initiatives, including parent support groups and multi-family programming.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary departments to promote effective communication, coordinated care, and positive team functioning.
• Respond to and resolve parent concerns in partnership with nursing, education, and residential teams.

Experience and Skills

Education

• Clinical degree in social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy or other licensed counseling degree.
• CT licensure is required.

EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS

• CT licensure is required.
• Three years of experience working with children and families required.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Bilingual/bicultural skills preferred.
