Position Summary:
This clinical staff pharmacist evaluates and interprets orders; compounds; and dispenses medications according to written orders/prescriptions issued by an authorized prescriber. Identify, prevent, assess, and resolve medication-related problems to ensure a safe and optimal patient outcome. Promote clinically rational drug therapy and sound pharmaceutical care through criteria-based protocols.

Position Key Accountabilities:
Certification/Skills:
Current pharmacist license in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
Effective verbal and written communication skills are required. Ability to effectively participate on an interdisciplinary team or committee. Knowledge of pathophysiology, interpretation of diagnostic criteria, pharmacokinetics and pharmacotherapeutics. Problem-solving ability and analytical thinking preferred.
Bachelors of Science or Pharm.D. from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy.
One year experience as a pharmacist. Clinical pharmacy experience preferred. Experience using computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and pharmacy information systems required. Thorough knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations governing pharmacy services. Proficient in the use and application of new medications and technology.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
