Job summary

McLeod Health is seeking a Clinical Staff Pharmacist to join our hospital pharmacy team. You will interpret medication orders, ensure accurate dispensing for anesthesia and inpatient care, verify IVs, carts and kits, and serve as a drug information resource for the care team.

The role requires an unrestricted license or eligibility to practice in South Carolina, with licensure required within 3 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Unrestricted license to practice pharmacy OR eligible for licensure; licensure required within 3 months of hire.
• Ability to work independently

Responsibilities

• Interpret medication orders accurately and enter them into the computer for drug administration.
• Ensure medications are dispensed promptly and delivered to patients.
• Verify medications including IVs, carts and kits before dispensing from the pharmacy.
• Serve as a drug information resource for the health care team.
• Promote safe and effective use of automated dispensing and packaging systems, infusion pump technologies, EHR, and other hospital pharmacy technologies.
• Follow hospital and pharmacy policies and procedures and state/federal regulations.
• Collaborate with providers to address medication order concerns and interactions as needed.
• Ensure proper charging and crediting of medications.
• Supervise and direct pharmacy technicians to ensure timely and accurate services.
• Participate in committees or projects and assist in training staff and students.
