Job summary

Qualifications

• Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language to perform essential patient-safety functions.
• Demonstrates the ability to communicate with patients, physicians, families and co-workers with a customer-service focus.
• Exhibits teamwork and leadership skills to coordinate activities of a major pharmacy service area.

Responsibilities

• Promotes a positive, team-focused work environment and communicates patient care information clearly.
• Guides and mentors pharmacy technicians and students during shifts.
• Processes orders and verifies drug appropriateness according to patient diagnosis, allergies, height and weight.
• Monitors workload and allocates tasks to ensure timely medication delivery to patient care areas.
• Participates in quality and safety activities, including adverse event reporting and medication reviews.
