The Clinical Specialist plays a critical role at the intersection of science, strategy, and sales. This individual is responsible for promoting and driving adoption of high medical value assays (HMVAs) to strategic customers within a designated geography. Beyond delivering clinical education, the Clinical Specialist leverages business acumen, analytical insight, and strategic planning to align clinical value with customer and market needs, ultimately accelerating revenue growth.
As part of the sales organization, the Clinical Specialist partners closely with Account Executives and Regional Account Specialists, co-develops and executes customer engagement strategies, implementation plans, and market development initiatives. This role engages directly with Cardiologists, Neurologists, Laboratory Medical Directors, Pharmacy, hospital executives and other key stakeholders, serving as both a trusted clinical resource and a strategic partner in shaping diagnostic adoption.
This is a field based role: Central U.S.
Education:
Bachelor of Arts/Science from an accredited university required
DCLS, PhD, MLS (ASCP)cm , or MT (ASCP) cm strongly preferred
Experience:
1 - 2 years work experience, strong preference working in hospital or reference laboratory setting
3 years previous related clinical/practical experience in cardiometabolic, neurology infectious disease and/or women’s health
Duties & Responsibilities:
Ability to develop and maintain deep relationships with thought leaders and healthcare professionals
The ability to communicate, understand and educate clinical data to technical users
Excellent organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
Strong sense of urgency
Excellent interpersonal verbal, written and presentation skills with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels and to large groups within and outside the organization
Capable of building strong working relationships with internal/external customers
Attend local and national professional trade shows and events and promote products to all customers
Capable of working unpredictable schedule that may occasionally change on short notice due regional or customer demands
Accustomed to tight deadlines and managing multiple tasks
Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment
Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects
Ability to travel 50% within assigned region and/or outside assigned region
Capable of engaging customers in selling conversations as needed and as directed by Regional Business Manager(s) and direct leader
Preferred Qualifications:
Laboratory-specific education or experience in clinical care
Business-to-business experience highly desired
Medical background/sales experience, laboratory experience, and/or managed care knowledge desirable
Ideal candidate would have a minimum of two years sales experience
Knowledge of Roche Diagnostics processes and product portfolio

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Central U.S. is $100,100 (min) - $143,000 (mid) - $185,900 (max) annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits described below.
