Clinical Specialist, RN (Remote, After Hours)

Overview

Triages incoming calls from patients and/or caregivers, assesses needs, provides appropriate clinical recommendations, and guides patients to the appropriate level of care or resources. Communicates and coordinates care when regional centers are closed. Works under general supervision. This role is remote and requires a New York State nursing license. The shift for this role is Wednesday - Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.

What You Will Do

• Collect and compile medical and social information to assess patients' physical, social, and psychological needs using clinical expertise, policies, and guidelines.
• Provide appropriate care advice and direct callers to suitable resources or levels of care based on assessments.
• Utilize automated clinical protocols to guide assessments and prompt dispositions.
• Document calls and follow-up actions accurately in the computer system.
• Coordinate after-hours care by contacting relevant personnel to ensure continuity of care, and document significant events and care plans.
• Support field staff after hours and collaborate with clinical management to resolve complex issues.
• Assist in orienting new nurses to the Contact Center RN role.
• Maintain high clinical knowledge through ongoing professional development and participate in on-call coverage as needed.
• Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in New York State is required.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Minimum of two years' experience in Home Care, Ambulatory Care, Emergency Room, or related fields.
• Proven clinical competence and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication, analytical, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency with computers, preferably Microsoft Windows.

Pay Range

USD $85,000.00 - USD $106,300.00 per year.
