Job summary

The Dimock Center's Askia Academy in Roxbury, MA seeks a Social Worker / Counselor for the Askia facility, focusing on substance use with co-occurring disorders. This full-time, on-site role supports clinical services and group sessions under the Clinical Director, with a 11:00am to 7:00pm schedule and occasional evenings or weekends.

Applicants should have a Master's degree and license preferred but not required; licensure is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in social work is required.
• One year experience in substance use disorder treatment preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive a company vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide brief supportive therapy and facilitate psychoeducational groups under Clinical Director guidance.
• Counsel patients individually, in family meetings and in group sessions.
• Collaborate with case manager to arrange referrals and linkages to care levels.
• Conduct crisis prevention, intervention and risk assessments; escalate as needed.
• Complete biopsychosocial assessments, progress notes and treatment plans in a timely manner.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings; participate in supervision and licensure hours.
