Job summary

Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services is seeking a licensed Clinical Social Worker D to serve as an Eligibility Assessment Specialist within the Area Office. You will conduct psychosocial assessments and review medical, educational, and functional data to inform DDS eligibility determinations.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, schools, hospitals, and families, ensuring timely, accurate determinations and compliant documentation across DDS regulations.

Qualifications

• Three years of full-time (or equivalent part-time) professional experience as a clinical social worker after earning a Master’s degree.
• Licensure as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication and report-writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments for DDS applicants.
• Review and synthesize psychological evaluations, medical docs, educational records, and adaptive functioning assessments.
• Interview applicants, families, guardians, and collateral providers to obtain relevant history.
• Prepare written clinical summaries and eligibility recommendations per DDS criteria.
• Present complex cases to regional psychology staff or eligibility committees.
• Coordinate with schools, hospitals, and community providers to obtain records.
• Maintain confidential electronic DDS records and participate in QA activities.
